I came to Dr. Esquivel with a slew of symptoms that I had been tolerating for years. I knew something was off but traditional blood tests & doctors were telling me everything was fine. Dr. Esquivel was the first medical professional that actually heard me and provided more than a bandaid solution. He has a holistic way of reading test results that helps you identify the root causes of your issues. He has treatment plans that don't require a visit to the pharmacy. Since starting with Dr. Esquivel I have changed my lifestyle and am feeling so much better. I was initially skeptical of acupuncture but Dr. Esquivel has made me a believer I first came in for treatment while going through one of the most anxiety ridden times in my life. By my second treatment I was feeling completely renewed. Through further treatments, and the recommended supplements, my level of anxiety is very minimal and infrequent. What a huge recovery! Dr. Esquivel takes the time to talk you through any issues you are experiencing, to make sure the root of the problem is addressed, while providing a comforting environment. I give Dr. Esquivel a spectacular rating! I recommend him to as many people as I can in the area, and I highly recommend San Jose Functional Medicine!

Dr. Esquivel is one of those rare physicians that takes the extra time for you, listens to your health concerns, and works with you on various paths to wellness. His functional medicine practices are more than just healthcare, it's "life care." I live in a different city, but with the tele-health, it's been easy to keep appointments over the phone or over zoom if necessary, have bloodwork done locally, then consult with him as needed.
